Dear potential sponsor,
The 6th Canadian Conference on Ovarian Cancer Research (CCOCR) will be held in Québec City from May 27-29, 2012. It is a prestigious pan-Canadian meeting which takes place every 2 years and brings together close to 200 basic researchers involved in the area of ovarian cancer research, and clinicians involved in the treatment of ovarian cancer. Nationally and internationally renowned guest speakers have already accepted our invitation to speak. Oral and poster presentations will also be included in the program. Graduate students and researchers will thus have the opportunity to present their research work.
The meeting includes 5 thematic symposiums and 2 workshops. In addition, the program includes an important clinical teaching activity for basic researchers, with 2 « Workshops for the Trainees ». The objective of this workshop is to teach researchers clinical knowledge about ovarian cancer (Knowledge Transfer). There is also a « Survivor Workshop » organized by Ovarian Cancer Canada (OCC) to provide information and knowledge to « ovarian cancer survivors» and their families in relation to the progress made in ovarian cancer research.
The theme of the conference is “Where there is a molecular path, there is a way".
The four main symposia are:
- Integrating High-throughput Technologies in the Quest for Effective Biomarkers for Ovarian Cancer Prognosis and Therapy
- New Concepts in Understanding Ovarian Cancer Initiation and Progression
- Ovarian Cancer Genetics and Epigenetics: from the Lab to the Clinic
- Targeted Therapies and Current and Emergent Clinical Trials
Enthusiastic endorsement and participation by The Society of Gynecologic Oncologists of Canada (GOC) and Ovarian Cancer Canada (OCC) are pivotal to the Conference. We are currently seeking sponsorship for this important and unique meeting.
